Lectures
Through a series of international online lectures and public info sessions, we have invited key figures from both architectural academia and professional practice in the U.S. to engage in meaningful exchange.
Past lectures have featured Chris Lasch, Dean of The School of Architecture, and Stephanie Lin, Chair of the Architecture Program, who shared how natural landscapes serve as a generative basis for architectural form, and discussed their cross-scalar thinking in architectural education.
Architectural educator Andrew Gonzales explored the role of terrain and energy in design through the lens of spatial boundaries and transitions. Lloyd Natof, great-grandson of Frank Lloyd Wright and a steward of his architectural philosophy, offered insights into his organic design approach in furniture and graphic structures. Floyd Hamblen, a long-time architect at Taliesin West, reflected on over three decades of experience and shared his perspective on organic architecture as “a way of living.”
Through these lectures, IET creates a bridge for students in Asia to engage directly with leading voices in global design—broadening their understanding of the relationship between architecture, landscape, and culture, while deepening their international perspective and creative imagination.
